VME News - Kling & Freitag / Apex Audio With VME At Plasa
Cheshire-based pro audio distributor VME Ltd will present a range of pro audio products at PLASA this year, including the latest product additions from German loudspeaker manufacturer Kling & Freitag and Belgian audio processing manufacturer, Apex Audio.
From Kling & Freitag comes a number of new loudspeakers, including the Line 212-9, a horn-loaded, passive cabinet featuring the company's FLC (frequency dependent line coupling) technology, two 12" woofers, a 1.5" titanium dome HF driver and a rotatable CD horn, for horizontal or vertical operation. Max SPL is given as 137dB (peak). The trapezoidal birch ply cabinet includes four integral rigging points and 'Click & Fly' flying rail.
Also from Kling & Freitag is the SW112-SP, a self-powered, compact sub enclosure measuring 470 x 370 x 520mm, and weighing 29.5kg. Based around a 12" long excursion driver, the SW 112-SP produces a frequency range of 41Hz - 350Hz (+/-3dB) and a 124dB peak SPL. Power is from an integrated Class D amplifier (1000W into 8ohms), with short-circuit, overheat, clipping and overload protection.
New from Apex is the Digital Intelli X - a 4-in, 8-out digital crossover/processor incorporating parametric EQ, delay, matrix, HPF, LPF and output limiters. Wireless PC-controlled and bus-linkable to the Apex Intelli-Q digital equalizer. Apex dBQ Zero - a 2-channel 30-band graphic equalizer with high and low shelving EQ, HPF and swept notch filters with fine tuner for accurate feedback removal. Apex sound quality at a mid-level price point.
